How does DeVry approach the interview process?
DeVry uses the interview to determine your best choice of degree program, motivation for attending college (parents, peers, career) and if there are any roadblocks to attending and graduating (such as finances, past school history). To help arrive at those answers DeVry asks questions about:
- Career interests including what interests you most and why.
- Employment including where you work currently and if you plan to work while you attend school.
- Previous education including high school graduation info, highest level of math completed, ACT/SAT scores if taken, classes you like most and least, types of classes you have taken and extracurricular activities involvement.
- Education goals such as what motivated your interest in DeVry, who will help you make your college decision, what degree program you desire and why, what you’re looking for in a college, what are your long-term goals, will you need housing assistance and is there anyone in your life who may prevent you from going to college.
- Financing information including if you have any financial plans in place to pay for college, have you applied for any scholarships or grants, does your company offer tuition reimbursement, have you ever applied for or considered applying for federal financial aid, and do you have any other resources available to help you with educational expenses.
DeVry isn’t for everyone. The interview will help you and DeVry determine if there’s a good fit.
